  • Friends

I'm not as good at being in New Orleans as I used to be.  Little things that happened today... like trying to find parking, driving down Veterans, realizing that a flyer has indeed been placed under my windshield wiper, and navigating the Clearview Target... reminds me of the little differences I am no longer accustomed to.  I just can't pull in to traffic or sqeeze in a tight parking spot as well as I used to.  But one thing I am very accustomed to is the people.  It was great to see some special friends.  (That would include you, Scout...lol)  There is nothing like sitting at a table for a couple of hours with people with whom you have strong memories.  People who have spent many hours in prayer with you.  Even though we've all changed, there's a special bond in Christ and in friendship that is lasting.  I am thankful for the friends God has placed in my path.  Each one has made a lasting impression upon my life.

  • I've always been pretty "girlie"... not as much as Courtney, but then, who is?  Anyway, because of that, I've always held tight to my acoustic guitars, because I thought electircs were for boys.  My one previous attempt at playing an electric guitar was a nightmare.  There was so much distortion, I had no idea what note I should be singing.  I felt like a girl trying to be as cool as a boy on an electric.  Until tonight :)   I just finished playing Courtney's pink glitter electric, and I'm not gonna lie... I love it!!!   So, here I will admit to the world that I was wrong.  Why do I think my xanga friends should know this???  Because it's better than what I've been posting, which is nothing ;)

  • The Gideons

Ever saw a Bible in a hotel toom?  They're place by this group "The Gideons".  They're just a bunch of people in various nations who want to get God's word out all over the world.  Anyway, I say this because they asked me to sing for a group of them tonight for a Pastor's Banquet.  It was really sweet.  I had a good time, even though all of them could be my parents, if not grandparents!!!  It was so nice; they gave me a Bible, and they paid for 3 Bibles to be sent out in recognition of my visit.  (They're pretty formal).  But it was special.  And it was nice because my pastors were there, and we really bonded.  I had fun w/ Pastor Don.  He knew I felt awkward in the environment, and made sure I felt included.  I'm just thankful for him tonight, and thankful that I had the opportunity to share worship w/ a group of people who are dedicated to a great cause.
